Coffee House Dark Snake
It was about 4pm one rainy Sunday afternoon. Two families were having a great time at a local coffee house. There were 4 adults and 5 children altogether. The 4 adults were the parents and they were having a chat, enjoying their coffee as they talked about family matters and told jokes. Their children were running around the coffee house. It seemed that the owner of the place did not mind at all.
One of the children, Peter, did not have at much fun though. He was about 7 and he was the youngest amongst them. He was not as active as the rest of the kids and he seemed to sense something strange and he was always wary of something. When his parents asked him what was wrong, all he did was shake his head.
The other 4 children continued their energetic running until one of them, Mary, spotted Peter standing still, staring at something. He was looking in the direction of the table where the adults were sitting. Mary asked him what the matter was. Peter told her he saw a long black thing slithering under the table, among the legs of the adults. He added that the thing was shadowy and dark and it looked like a snake. The other children saw nothing of that sort, but Peter insisted that he saw it. He told them that the creature moved towards the door to the coffee house kitchen and disappeared.
When word got to the adults, they dismissed it as Peter's strong imagination, but Peter kept insisting that he was telling the truth. When Peter got home, he put on a fever.
Younger children are generally found to be more able to see supernatural beings such as ghosts, monsters and shadow people. It is a shame that adults often do not take them seriously.
