Helping A Hotel Ghost
This story is a true story and it happened around 2008. It was told to me by my dad. One of my dad''s customers went on a vacation to Sabah. He went with his whole family to visit historical places and interesting spots. I believe he did not go alone. He tagged along in a field trip and there was a married couple in the group as well. This couple was the ones who had the ghostly encounter.
You see, Eastern beliefs had it that it would be appropriate to knock on the door of the hotel room the first time you check in. This is to inform possible spirits temporarily inhabiting the hotel room that you are about to occupy the room. If you barge in, they would get mad.
The said couple was told of this but on their trip to Sabah, they forgot to knock. And bad luck enough, they got a haunted room. The wife's hair stood on end when they entered the room. They went to have dinner, but after dinner, the wife got a fever. When she went back into their room to have a bath, she saw a long-haired female ghost in the bathroom. The next morning, when she was brushing her teeth, she saw drops of blood in the sink. Her husband had no such experiences at all, on the contrary.
They approached my dad's customer who was also on the same vacation trip and they were advised to lead the ghost to a nearby temple to "help" her. They heeded to the advice. How? Well, before getting out of the house, they called out to the ghost politely, saying "We are about to go to the temple. Would you like to follow us?" or something like that. They called out to the ghost on the trip, even when boarding the bus and getting out of the bus and going into the temple.
After that, the couple had a pleasant time during the rest of their vacation, with no more ghost sightings. It was believed that the ghost, upon reaching the temple, found refuge or eternal rest.
